Velebit is small village on the edge of the loess plateau, on the height of 106 m above the sea level.
The village is a relatively young settlement, founded after World War I, when the land was given to military volunteers from Lika Region in Croatia. The settlement was called after the original Region`s highest mountain – Velebit.
Vojvoda Zimonjić is a small settlement 5 km southwest from Kanjiza. The story of its founding is similar to the history of Velebit. Most important is agriculture and many villagers work in the nearby Kanjiža.
